Global Entrepreneurship Week 2024 + Jenga Hackathon
A one-day celebration under the theme 'Entrepreneurship is for Everyone', 103 students from 7 universities, a panel of industry leaders, and the Jenga Hackathon final pitch.
What happened
On November 20, 2024, AIS celebrated Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) with the Jenga Hackathon final pitch, a one-day flagship event themed "Entrepreneurship is for Everyone." The event drew 103 students from 7 universities across Kigali and aligned with Rwanda's Vision 2050, the Africa Agenda 2063, and SDGs 4 (Quality Education) & 8 (Decent Work).

Winning teams
- TechTitans (CMU-Africa), AI for education access (1st place)
- Agri-IOT Pioneers (RICA), IoT-based agricultural solutions (2nd place)
- PlantGuard AI (ALU), Scalable AI for environmental sustainability (3rd place)
Impact
Prizes ranged from JBL speakers and headphones to branded laptop bags. More importantly, the winning teams advanced to a 3-month mentorship programme through CMU-Africa's Industry Innovation Lab, turning a one-day pitch into a proper runway.
